2009 In Review!

Our latest album, NO NATIONS, along with our whole catalogue of music (including free-to-download rarities, remixes, b-sides, instrumentals, lyrics and live songs) is now available directly from us through this website. Click the MUSIC tab above to access all these Jets Overhead songs in MP3, FLAC, Lossless and other digital formats. On the other end of the technology spectrum, we are very grateful to our friends at Vapor Records for printing the band’s first-ever run of vinyl (thanks Bonnie!). You can order NO NATIONS on vinyl HERE.

2009 has been a year of many other exciting firsts for the band:

–Our first tour of China (view the music video for “No Nations” that we shot in Beijing, Shanghai and Shenzhen HERE)

–Our first appearance at a major US festival (Bonnaroo 2009, where we went head to head with the Beastie Boys and David Byrne!)

–Our first appearance at Neil Young’s annual Bridge School Benefit in the Bay Area (watch Adam, Antonia and Luke singing “Comes A Time” as the grand finale with Neil himself, No Doubt, Sheryl Crow, Fleet Foxes, Wolfmother, Chris Martin, and others HERE)

–Our first official release in the US on Vapor Records, a label that has long been home to our friends Tegan & Sara and that was originally founded by Elliot Roberts and Neil Young.

–Our first major US network TV song placement (“Where Did You Go” from the Bridges album was used in a major finale scene on HOUSE, viewable in the US HERE)

–Our first Canada Live session for CBC Radio (Listen to the stripped down and acoustic song arrangements HERE)

–Our first Top 30 national charting position at Canadian rock and alternative rock radio formats (The “Heading For Nowhere” single is available HERE)

–Our first song use in a Brazilian mobile commercial (And we’re not even joking, ha. Click HERE to see the spot using “Blue Is Red”)

–Our first experiment with a Creative Commons license as a follow up to our 2006 voluntary purchase model (for more information click HERE)

–Our first attempts to communicate in cyberspace using Twitter (follow us HERE) and Facebook (become an FB fan HERE)
