Tall Tree, Short Sleeps

I’m listening to the summer rain on the window and recovering from an amazing weekend in Port Renfrew, BC playing at the Tall Tree Music Festival. You know a festival is good when you come home with dust all over your stuff, a smile on your face and random feel-good slogans written on your arm who knows when and by who knows who. What was it like, you ask? Well, the gorgeous Lord-of-the-Rings-like vistas from Browns Mountain provided an incredible backdrop to a non-stop lineup of awesome bands and dj’s, the local Phillips beer was a-plentiful, the festival creatures were happy and dancing in the sun then under a wide sky crammed with stars, I ate the best waffle of my life from one of the many delicious food carts, my husband and bandmate Adam perfected his signature drink the “sweet and smoky” and he’s feeling really good about that, I shed a tear on a few occasions due to the shear quality of music coming from the stage (ahem, Aidan Knight, Maurice, Steph Macpherson, Quoia, Vince Vaccaro just to name a few), and best of all Jets Overhead had a blast playing for a great crowd on the first night (yes, a gentleman wearing an egg-man suit came on stage playing the tambourine halfway through our set and it was glorious). Can’t wait for next year. Curious? Check out TallTreeMusicFestival.com –Antonia
